Faucets and Shower Heads
In today's world, the number of faucet designs is abundant and this creates many options. Due to this, faucet designs are harder to categorize.
One way of categorizing faucets and shower heads is by their "set up" or their configuration.
| Single-handled faucets are the core of today's faucet designs. They offer advantages that traditional two-handled faucets don't. The first being convenience, you can control water pressure and temperature all in one fall swoop. You can use any part of your arm to either turn on or off the faucet just in case is your hands are a little dirty. |
 |
| Center-set faucets are traditional faucets that are easily recognized and have been around for a long time. They come in a one piece unit and is usually mounted over a three hole valve opening, with about a 4 inch spread. |
 |
| Spread-fit faucets have handles and spouts that are not connected to each other. They are much more flexible when it comes to designs. You can control the distance between mounting hole in the sink up to 16 inches apart. |
 |
| Wall-mounted faucets are usually designed for tubs and specialized sinks. The come in a different variety of styles, ranging from plain traditional to very high end. |

What exactly is inside?
You want a faucet that's high quality, because even though you shell out big bucks for fancy designs, it won't be worth it if it constantly needs repairs.
Make sure you look for faucets that are made of either ceramic valve components or machined brass fittings. Try to steer clear of faucets with plastic shells, seals, and handles.
Showerheads
For years, a showerhead was just a permanent fixture attached to the wall. More than likely, it wasn't adjustable. Not many options were available at the time, but now a permanent showerhead is a thing of the past.
A wall-mounted showerhead is inexpensive and has a basic adjustable neck to control the angle of water flow. If there is a low ceiling it can make for an inconvenient showerhead level. You can by pass this problem by installing a top-mounted showerhead.
If you were to combine a mounting clip and a gooseneck hose, it would make for a handheld showerhead, which is a very versatile style. A sliding bar showerhead is great for families with children. The showerhead can slide up and down along a mounted track affixed to the wall, which would allow you to adjust the level according to height.
You can enjoy a full body massage with vertical shower panels. It is mounted on one or more walls and allows water to shoot out through jets to create that spa massage treatment.
Choosing your faucet
The appearance of your bathroom is directly correlated to the style of faucet you have, so you should pay special attention to the choice of faucet. Don't forget to take quality into account, and remember to keep the faucet style compatible with your bathroom decorating theme. Keep in mind that your mounting holes on you sink should match the proper dimensions of the faucet.
