Glass Vessel Sink Installation

glass vessel sink parts

In this episode of do it yourself installation project, we will provide help and assistance installing a glass vessel sink on a vanity set or a countertop in your bathroom.
Before you begin your installation process, check and make sure that your set contains all the necessary parts, as shown on this clip. Make sure that your glass vessel sink has not been scratched, chipped, or broken before you begin your installation process.
Your set must contain a pop up drain, a mounting ring, a p-trap, and a decorative ring, the use of which I will show you in a short while.

mounting ring

Our next step is to place the mounting ring on the vanity set or a counter top. Make sure the rubber seal faces down and the softer, shiny part is facing up.

gently set your glass sink on top of the mounting ring

Now gently set your sink on top of the mounting ring. You may consider supporting your glass vessel with your hand or ask someone to assist you, just as a precaution.

secure the glass vessel sink

Now let's secure the vessel sink. Put the rubber washers, then the ridget, and the metal nut back onto the drain body.

p-trap

Well, at this point we are now left with the tailpiece and the p-trap.
We must now remove the metal nut along with the washers attached to it off the side of the p-trap.
Hold the tailpiece in your hand in the upside down position, in a second you will understand the reason for that.
Place the earlier removed metal nut and then the washers onto the tailpiece.
Now flip the tailpiece back, and you should now see that the black rubber washer is tightly sitting on the bottom of the tailpiece.

connecting the tailpiece with the drain body

As we continue our installation process connect the tailpiece with the drain body and tighten the nut using your hands.

connecting p-trap

Place the decorative ring onto the longer pipe of the p-trap. Now remove the metal nut off the wall drain, which you should find under the vanity set or a counter top. And as you have already done previously place and slide the metal nut slowly onto the longer pipe of the p-trap.

insert the longer pipe of the p-trap into the drain opening in your wall

Now, insert the longer pipe of the p-trap into the drain opening in your wall, connect the body of the p-trap together with the tailpiece of the pop up drain.
You may use your hands to tighten the connecting metal nut.
Simply slide the drain which you have previously removed off the wall drain tighten it in a clockwise direction and slide the decorative ring all the way in for a final touch.

Glass Vessel Sink afetr installation

Hmm... looks perfect!!! But I have a feeling we have forgotten something. Of course! We forgot to open the stop valves.
Now that we have completed our installation process, turn on the hot and cold stop valves and get ready to turn on the water.
We hope we have been of help with your installation process. Thank you for visiting us at Expressdecor.com
